Here's a copy of Jessie's message to the Splendid Mailing List...
Hello Splendid People,
Another quick hello to all our friends. Austin is
nice and hot now. Angie reports very hot weather from
Melbourne. I will be returning to Australia on March
3rd. From there we will shoot the Come Clean video and
begin another tour of Australia. We will be playing in
Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. No exact dates are
known at this time. Angie has also retrieved some
Frente 7 inches that will be for sale. More details
will be available soon on that. It was reported that
the Buffy Cd's version of Charge has charted in
Germany! Very cool. Talk soon.

Here's a copy of Angie's message to the Splendid Mailing List...
Hello Splendid People,
We are obviously still here in Australia. Sorry we
have not written in or replied to any mail lately. We
have been very busy here, playing shows, drinking lots
and strategizing our next moves. We are going to
release Come Clean as the next single in mid March.
We have been received really well here. People are
enjoying the live shows and some radio stations have
started playing the record again. We are playing with
a new rhythm section. Bill McDonald from Frente on
bass, and Pete Luscombe on drums. We will be back in
America soon. We are staying overseas till the end of
March. Jesse will be back in America for a few weeks
in February and will be answering mail soon. Thanks
for all the mail and good wishes. We will write again
soon. Please excuse the briefness of this email but we
just thought we would give you an update.

From everyone here at Splendid Online, Happy Holidays!
Splendid are currently continuing their Australian tour (new tour dates are posted in the
Travels section). Their only way of communicating with us is
through their Aussie label, Mushroom Records, so news and replying to letters have been
(and will be) slow. Until their return to the U.S., we hope all their Australian fans
are having a great time catching their shows because we hear Splendid are loving the
response their getting! See ya in 2000!

Lots of things to update you all on! First, the Luna Park show went
beautifully as expected. Angie and Jesse played acoustically on several
songs from their recently released (in Australia) album, Have You
Got A Name For It, including "Better Things," "I'm No Better,"
and their first single "Less Than Zero." The night before, Angie and Jesse
could be seen on stage at the fictional club, The Bronze, on the season
premiere of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." The episode, entitled "The Freshmen,"
featured Splendid performing their wonderful ballad "You and Me." Click
here to see photos from the shoot.
As we mentioned, Have You Got A Name For It made its Australian
debut on 10/11. A US release is still TBD but stateside fans can either
order the album at various Australian online stores or get a small taste
of Splendid on the soundtrack to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" due on 10/19.
Full details are in the discography section.
Here's what Angie and Jesse are listening to these days:
Belle & Sebastian - Boy with the Arab Strap (Matador)
Massive Attack - Mezzanine (Virgin)
Tricky with DJ Muggs and Grease - Juxtapose (Island)
